Visitors to the Sunshine Coast will find an excellent collection of Sunshine Coast accommodation with features, facilities and budgets to suit everyone. Visitors who prefer the convenience of an hotel, or with only a short stop-over, will find an excellent choice of Sunshine Coast hotels that will meet their every need.
Noosa is a popular holiday resort and known as one of the better surfing spots on the Sunshine Coast. The town enjoys a beautiful, tranquil location and is a prized address. It has become one of the most fashionable and upmarket locations on the Sunshine Coast. Head north to Cooloola National Park, Lake Cootharaba and the Teewah coloured sands. Enjoy the unspoiled beaches of Sunshine and Peregian. Take a trip inland to the Eumundi markets. Coolum is a popular Sunshine Coast holiday spot with an excellent surf beach. It is fast becoming a centre for apartment and resort development along the coast to Noosa. Take a side trip to Yandina and visit Gingertown. Maroochydore lies at the heart of the Sunshine Coast and was only "discovered" during the 60's. It is a lovely combination of parks, golden beaches and the tranquil Maroochydore River. Popular holiday resorts co-exist with a mixture of modern developments together with original holiday homes. Visit the medieval castle at nearby Bli Bli or the two-thirds replica of Captain Cook's vessel, Endeavour Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland have no shortage of good surf beaches. A trawler fleet operates from Mooloolaba which has an attractive marina. Try the shopping at The Wharf and pay a visit to Underwater World. Take a trip to Buderim and visit the Pioneer Cottage. Caloundra has always been a family holiday centre and is surrounded by 12 km of beaches. The town has a mixture of retirees and holiday makers and is a popular fishing spot with access to the Pumicestone Channel, also popular with water sports enthusiasts. Caloundra is linked to Mooloolaba in the north with a 12 km stretch of surf beach. Visit the Queensland Air Museum and have a beer at the nearby Ettamogah pub. The Hinterland is part of the Blackall Range that overlooks the Sunshine Coast and boasts some magnificent countryside and quaint country towns. This is a popular area for day trips taking in Tewantin, Cooroy, Eumundi, Kenilworth, Mapleton and Flaxton. Stop off at the Kondalilla National Park and falls, then on to Montville, Yandina and back to the coast at Coolum. There are numerous opportunities for tea and scones, local arts and crafts. The Maleny folk festival in December has become a major Sunshine Coast event. The unusual Glasshouse Mountains, inland from Caloundra, are excellent for scenic drives, bushwalking and rock-climbing. Climbs are of varying levels of difficulty.
